Harrison went from a small squatting community around 1890 to a thriving town in only about 12 years thanks to the completion of O.R. & N railroad branch connecting Harrison to Teko. The I.O.O.F building (home of One Shot Charlie’s) was completed in 1917. The Oasis bar was opened during these booming years, always located in the I.O.O.F building, its layout and name has changed over the years. Charlie Jenicek took over in 1949 and the legendary “One Shot Charlie’s” was born.
